Day one:
Rule one - be patient. The flight departs at 08:00 from Lanseria Airport, close to Johannesburg. We first have to fly to Maputo for the immigration and customs formalities and from there to Inhambane, Mozambique. Rule two - be patient. From here it is a three-hour journey by four-wheel drive vehicle to the end of the world - Pomene Bay.

On the way you will experience and enjoy the true Mozambique - little villages, friendly people, potholes and goats:-). Check in, orientation and briefing plus sundowners on the estuary - and of course dinner and a nice bed...

Days two and three:
Light breakfast, dive and search for Whale Sharks, breakfast, dive and search for Whale Sharks, lunch, dive in the estuary (if tide & conditions allow), dinner, fall over...

Water temperature is 27+ degrees C, viz from ten to forty meters and beautiful coral reefs covered with tropical reef and pelagic fish, moray and other eels, nudibranchs, turtles and lots more. Very, very rare but there are river dolphins and dugongs.

Day four:
Lazy morning and breakfast before we depart for the highlight of the trip. Half the route is in 4x4's and rest by sailing across Inhambane Bay in a traditional Dhow. We do a tour of the historic town of Inhambane, visit the markets and lunch at a local restaurant - the peri-peri prawns or chicken is a must! The lodge has a pool, bar, comfortable rooms, fantastic food, optional land and water activities to choose from, and of course a beach to die for.

Days five, six and seven:
Three dives a day (ok, only two on the last day because we have to fly the next day) looking for the Whale Sharks that inhabit the bay during the summer. There are also lots of Manta, devil and other rays, turtles, dolphins, all sorts of eels, tropical reef fish, pelagic fish and lots more!

Day eight:
Spend the last morning on the beach or explore the area before we transfer to Inhambane Airport for the flight back to Johannesburg.
